Nutri Month Experience In ISNHS

     

       With Nutrition Month coming to a close, I couldn't help but think of all the fun I had in various events. One memory I cherish most is participating in the NutriQuiz along with Gianna. It was somewhat of an adventure; we were told we would be joining just a half hour before the start of the event. With such a short time to prepare, we found ourselves rushing through our notes trying to cram whatever little we could before the quiz began.

    The hour was frantic and challenging, but we cheered each other on and really wanted to give it our best shot. We told ourselves that although we were probably at a disadvantage, our teamwork and positive mindset would keep us afloat. During the quiz, I recall telling Gianna what I thought to be the answer to one tough question. She questioned me and replied differently. The answer I proposed was, in fact, the correct one. Laughing instead of slumping was part of the experience.

Despite all the last-minute pressures and one or two errors, we were honestly shocked and immensely elated to find out we had secured a placement in the competition. Our jaws fell in disbelief, and there wasn't any stopping the smiling. That moment of sharing victory after a frenzied beginning made everything worth it. The NutriQuiz may have been just one event fleeting past our busy month, but it certainly captured, along with all others, this highlight of Nutrition Month—a beautiful mix of chaos, teamwork, and sweet surprises.

In the end, we had a feeling of pride for finishing second.

    It started like any other day just another task to clean up the garbage in the garden, just another day in the life. But then something changed. What was normal became reflective. What reflective became transformative of my space, my mind, my agency, my spirit.        I needed to clean the garden because fallen fruits decorated my yard in more numbers than I could count rotting, decaying, bruised, crushed, trampled.   The theme of the Teacher's Month 2025 “My Teacher, My Hero” is, without a doubt, a very good reflection of the tremendous impact that the educators have outside the classroom, a feeling that I can't help but feel when I think about the guidance of Sir Julius Pajarillo. His heroism is not just the lack of extraordinary deeds, it is the constant, unchangeable, and not-to-be-challenged kindness and prompter presence that he brings to me as his pupil.  Both as a teacher who is fully committed and a coach who is addicted to the practice of journalism, particularly radio broadcasting, Sir Julius is able to pull up the curtain gray with stale subjects and people, he announces, "here comes the discovery of self-worth."
