A Change Of Heart
It started like any other day just another task to clean up the garbage in the garden, just another day in the life. But then something changed. What was normal became reflective. What reflective became transformative of my space, my mind, my agency, my spirit.
I needed to clean the garden because fallen fruits decorated my yard in more numbers than I could count rotting, decaying, bruised, crushed, trampled. Usually, I take this little cleaning project for granted and barely give it a second thought but this time was different.
Following through I was in a transformative state of mind without knowing it because instead of acknowledging the fruits as garbage disposable debris found on the curb or lying in my yard I saw this as an opportunity for education, creation, and evolution.
As I sorted through the waste plastic bottles, wrappers, food scraps I began to realize something important we create waste every single day and rarely stop to think about it.
This was not about cleaning. This was about taking responsibility. I never realized how much unnecessary waste we bring into our lives before it even comes into contact with the conscious individual designated to remove such trash. That day, I vowed to myself: I will be considerate going forward. I will take responsibility for my actions.
