A Change Of Heart

Image
It started like any other day just another task to clean up the garbage in the garden, just another day in the life. But then something changed. What was normal became reflective. What reflective became transformative of my space, my mind, my agency, my spirit.        I needed to clean the garden because fallen fruits decorated my yard in more numbers than I could count rotting, decaying, bruised, crushed, trampled. Usually, I take this little cleaning project for granted and barely give it a second thought but this time was different.     Following through  I was in a transformative state of mind   without knowing it because instead of acknowledging the fruits as garbage disposable debris found on the curb or lying in my yard I saw this as an opportunity for education, creation, and evolution.      As I sorted through the waste plastic bottles, wrappers, food scraps I began to realize something important we ...

The end and beginning of a new quarter

Image
With the first grading period of the academic year winding its way to a gratifying close, it's a very suitable time to reflect back on the highs and lows that have indeed shaped our lives. Each and every struggle has incorporated within it the resilience in order to learn something or anything, including academic to personal to prepare us to understand the importance of persistence and asking for help. All of these have built us within each difficult moment, making us stronger and more adaptable to anything that comes our way. Looking back now, it isn't so much what happened but what it imparts lessons that guide the way we want to handle future challenges and develop and refine as a mindset on how we carry things on ahead.        I think one of the most important learning experiences for me during the first quarter was learning about the Internet timeline-a topic that I found both interesting and challenging because of the amount of m...

To the President

Image
Dear Mr. President,      As I write this letter to you, I wish well for your health and courage at this time as you lead our country toward recovery and progress. I speak not only as a student (or concerned citizen) but further as a person who holds the future of this nation close to his heart  a future to be built and sustained by the very quality of education given to each and every Filipino child.      The recently released data and reports indicate a steep decline in student literacy and comprehension levels, which is a matter of great concern. Such a dismal reality beckons immediate, collective action. Education is not merely a privilege; it is a right that serves as a foundation for national progress. Without the provision of competent and effective education, we are facing the possibility of losing generations of future doctors, engineers, leaders, and innovators      Mr. President, I respectfully urge you to ensure that th...

Nutri Month Experience In ISNHS

Image
With Nutrition Month coming to a close, I couldn't help but think of all the fun I had in various events. One memory I cherish most is participating in the NutriQuiz along with Gianna. It was somewhat of an adventure; we were told we would be joining just a half hour before the start of the event. With such a short time to prepare, we found ourselves rushing through our notes trying to cram whatever little we could before the quiz began.      The hour was frantic and challenging, but we cheered each other on and really wanted to give it our best shot. We told ourselves that although we were probably at a disadvantage, our teamwork and positive mindset would keep us afloat. During the quiz, I recall telling Gianna what I thought to be the answer to one tough question. She questioned me and replied differently. The answer I proposed was, in fact, the correct one. Laughing instead of slumping was part of the experi...

Something About Me that Now I Still Remember.

Hi to everyone who reads this!      I am Cyril Glenn Paat currently residing in Zone 3 Bantay Ilocos Sur. I want to share something about myself: my hobbies, interests, dislikes, and things I enjoy doing in my spare time.      To start, I am very much simple when it comes to things that fascinate me. That's art, particularly painting and drawing. I'm not doing these arts as a hobby; more of a stress reliever or relaxation activity. On top of it, my interest in art makes me fond of solving Rubik's cubes, which stimulate my mind and satisfy my mental hunger.      Watching crime documentaries is another one of my passions because this is the film and TV genre that I adore most. What interests me about it is the deducing of mysteries and understanding how the human mind actually works. Otherwise, Id spend time with headphones on listening to music while playing video games.      As much as there are indoor activ...
