The end and beginning of a new quarter
With the first grading period of the academic year winding its way to a gratifying close, it's a very suitable time to reflect back on the highs and lows that have indeed shaped our lives. Each and every struggle has incorporated within it the resilience in order to learn something or anything, including academic to personal to prepare us to understand the importance of persistence and asking for help. All of these have built us within each difficult moment, making us stronger and more adaptable to anything that comes our way. Looking back now, it isn't so much what happened but what it imparts lessons that guide the way we want to handle future challenges and develop and refine as a mindset on how we carry things on ahead.
I think one of the most important learning experiences for me during the first quarter was learning about the Internet timeline-a topic that I found both interesting and challenging because of the amount of memorization needed. Nevertheless, I struggled to go through this material and gradually began to appreciate the contributions of the researchers and scientists involved. If they hadn't devoted themselves to creating these things, there would not even be an Internet today, one such integral part of our everyday lives.
Looking ahead, for the future I will strive to intensify my study and become ever better, even though there is much work still to be done. It is rather simple to recognize that there are areas where I need improvement, whether that is in understanding the subject matter, better managing my time, or staying on track with my goals. Instead of seeing any of these flaws as weaknesses, I prefer to view them as a kind of growth opportunities, challenges that I will overcome with hard work and determination. I understand that improvement does not happen overnight; however, with patience, discipline, and a strong will to succeed, I believe I can gradually strengthen the parts of me that still need work and continue progressing, not just academically, but personally as well.
